Carl’s Story: One-on-One Support in Memory Care

Written by Jennifer Muskat | Oct 1, 2025, 4:00:00 AM

We're fresh off a bustling September—thank you to everyone who joined us for a month full of purpose and connection. This past month, we hosted an educational event on dementia communication strategies, sponsored the North Shore Walk to End Alzheimer's, raised funds (and glasses) at our Toast to Fall event with J.McLaughlin, and launched our Alzheimer's Family Caregiver Support Group at our Lake Forest office. The response has been incredible, and we're grateful to be growing this community with you.

In this issue, you'll find:

  • Carl's Story: Supporting Independence in Memory Care
A powerful case study of how personalized, one-on-one support in a memory care community helped Carl reengage with the parts of life that brought him joy—even after a dementia diagnosis.
  • The 7 A's of Dementia: A Practical Guide for Caregivers
This caregiver-friendly guide breaks down the key cognitive changes that often accompany dementia, offering clarity, compassion, and tips for more empathetic support.
  • What's Ahead This October
From upcoming community events to caregiver resources and local partnerships, we'll share what's coming up and how to get involved.

As always, we're here to support you—and so glad you're part of the Full Bloom community.
